to be interviewed as one of his "success" stories. I explained that I haven't reached goal and that I started my weight loss on a different diet and he said he still wanted me to do this. So (as well as having just a full month of babysitting, seeing friends, daily neighborhood and thrice a week Kiroli Park walks) I spent a lot of time getting ready for "THE INTERVIEW". Actually talking to a GM-Support group friend about her interview she had, chatting away with her and friends about what I should wear, make up, hair, even nails and what questions he might ask. The above outfit was chosen by my sister-in-law and 3 friends. I thought we'd be indoors-but we ended up outdoors for the 45 min talk part . (though they edit down to 10 minutes or so) So, of course it was windy and my hair blew all over the place and my new bra was not holding the girls up so to speak and I can now see from this picture the video-interviewer ( Gordon Yurk flown down from Chicago) took for me with my camera that my shirt was also blowing up and around making me look fat around the middle ( my smallest part). He filmed me buying veggies at Fiesta Health Food Store, Climbing my friends spiral staircase, meditating at Lazar Point (place of interview) and walking at 4 different parts of Kiroli Park. I had my new purple coat on for the park walking, meditating, shopping , but not climbing those stairs! At least he took from above as I came up and from below as I came down, swore no butt shots.
After having a pity party about my perceived "fat looking" film stuff for an hour or so I realized that what I said was the important thing and after all I don't have to tell my real life friends the link if it turns out I don't like it. Before the interview I prayed that I sound literate and that God guide me to say that which would help other people in anyway possible. Bottom line that is what it is all about for me anyway-to help others find the joy and peace of being healthy again. Except for these blasted knees of mine I feel healthier than I ever have since I was a teen.
So that has been November for me. Along the way I did more clothes shopping. More clothes, 2 coats, sweater jacket, slippers, 3 nighties, Jammies and underthings. I'm still a little shell shocked on the money I spent-but I deserve it. I loved shopping for the first time in 4 decades. The last time I bought all new clothes was when I went away to college and my Mom actually bought that. I actually have pretty choices everyday & every night. My hubby was happy with my choices-esp. nightgowns. I had been wearing the same rags for a decade at least!
I probably won't be back here until the week after Thanksgiving. I'm picking up Alex & Gwyn to stay with me all the thanksgiving holidays because their parents have to work. I am so excited , been making all kinds of plans, now I can join in the fun and walk everywhere, get in and play with them at the parks ect. So very different from last year sitting and watching from the car or having to have my daughter or son push me around in that *%# wheelchair! It turns out the kids don't like turkey & Dressing, love Randy grilling for us. So Granddad said he would grill & take care of Thanksgiving. Yeah!! I don't even have to sweat over a stove all day- Sunshine forecast all week. We are going to have fun, fun, fun and I hope you do as well. Happy Thanksgiving fellow Americans!
