OK, Had a long enough diversion for breakfast time to come along, So Where were we? Drums. Did you know that the frequency for drums used in shamanic drumming activates Theta waves in the brain, 4-7 cycles per second. This is done with beating the drum about 180 times per minute. Theta activates a deeper state of ESP, and is the beginning level for psycho kinesis.
According to Jim Pathway Ewing " The rhythmic stimulation affects the electrical activity in the brain. A single beat of a drum contains many sound frequencies and the drumbeats are mainly low frequency, meaning more energy can be transmitted."
I have Tibetan " singing bowls." that Monks used centuries ago. They knew the power of music-sound as well. Ok, when I play- you might not call it music LOL! I have 7 of them -each one playing a musical note that corresponds to one of 7 chakras ( energy centers) in the body. I use them with Reiki Clients. 1st -G (below middle "C", 2nd-D, 3rd-F, 4th-G, 5th-A, 6th-D and 7th-G. You can really feel the vibration without even being touched by both drums and bowls. BTW, some of my Favorite singing bowl music is by Deuter. Check him out. Great for meditation and meditation is great for stress release- in turn great for weight loss. You take sound, combine it with intent, and you have a powerful healing energetic healing space. Weight Loss is all about healing at an energetic level.
Back to my playlist.I went through all my songs on my mp3 player and made 5 playlist that are uplifting and or inspiring songs. When I'm starting to slip into a worry space ( which often led to overeating for me) I can turn on one of these list to cheer me up- change the downward spiral my ego likes to take me to sometimes. Try it. Be sure to listen to the words- I found that sometimes songs I love I love for the beat and when I listen closely I'm appalled by the words. Your inner self hears those words. Our goal here is to fill our bodies with light instead of unhealthy foods.
Now I'm taking my list and heading outside for a day of garden work. Enjoy a music filled day.
